Another Pertwee! This is so much fun, because host Toby has always been a bit hard on the Pertwee era, perhaps the one that looked most disappointing compared to the images conjured by those Target novels, and only recently has he learned to start loving it for what it is, and not be disappointed with it for what it isn't. But Planet of the Spiders has always been a tricky one. Not so much the first few episodes set on Earth though, so hopefully special guest, Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace, and Toby will not have too much to argue about as the eight legs spin their webs around us and the Cyril Shaps klaxon sounds.... Toby and Annie recorded this a while before the pair of them butted heads at Hollyoaks High (where Toby ended up sacking Annie!) so let's see if things are a bit more amicable than in soap-land.

Yes, it's this one, the one with the chase. Not everyone loves the chase. But then again, not everyone loves The Chase and we had a ball with that on Happy Times and Places. So jump aboard whatever crazy vehicle you like and see if you can catch up with the most shambling villain in the show's history as he evades first Pat Gorman, and then a non actor who somehow wangled a few lines and a credit, and also the man who taught Kelvin Mackenzie to type. Oh it's all here, so have a cup of the second best coffee in the universe and come along for the ride with our wonderful special guest Annie Wallace who has recently been seen butting heads with host Toby on TV in Hollyoaks!!!!

It's the end of an era, as tall lightbulb Jon Pertwee glitters for the last time. Your host is all discombobulated by an unexpected move from illustrious guest Annie Wallace last time, so his choice of favourite thing will be slightly compromised in this edition - and will likely have a knock on effect for the final result. Which, considering what happened to the running time of this story is strangely appropriate. But we get home in the end. And what a long episode of Happy Times... this is! Crikey!

Tom's good fun though, so it's not heavy or didactic, but an open chat that tackles various aspects of the show's production and wider context in good faith.

"It is down there ... in the darkness... waiting." And while it waits, host Toby Hadoke has to guess what brilliant musician and You Tube maestro Jess Jurkovic likes about this missing Troughton classic, long held up as one of the scariest Doctor Who stories of all time. We're watching the reconstruction, but things really (and literally) start moving when Mr Oak and Mr Quill let themselves into Maggie's bedroom. What a story - what a gas!
